le tigre
November 18, 2003 - 8:06 pm

saw le tigre show last night in t.o. it was so-so, but by the time they came on my back was killing me and i was kind of drained from the opening acts. i wasn't in the right frame of mind to fully appreciate them. lesbians on ecstasy and les georges leningrad might have been better had i smoke a whole lot of weed before heading in. but alas i didn't have any within' reach. maybe i'm not into the experimental music they were hawking last night either. new music is all fine and dandy but i'll tell you, i've witnessed music and art-show crap before and it isn't pretty. two years ago i had the displeasure of seeing the now defunct slutarded. it was downright painful to watch. it really zaps the energy out of you. and then the main act comes on and your edgy and tense and you just want to go home. that's what happened last night. these bands should have some sort of disclaimer of chilling things to come. (or i should have read the pre-view in NOW) all i could hear was screaming and badly written music. i am always open to giving people another chance and they might surprise me. these two bands need another chance. le tigre was good. it was a carbon copy of any show they did last year. i hear after this tour they will begin work on a new album. i'm all for supporting them , so next time they come around i'll be there. it's nice to be in with a loud enthusiastic crowd which made the whole experience memorable.

i can't understand the rudeness of some people. you know bumping into someone at a packed concert hall is inevitable. coming home reeking of cigarette smoke is another(or pot). i'll try not to bitch too much. i tried to respect fellow humans as i destroyed my lungs for ten years. you know, not blowing smoke in your face or stamping my butt out on your food, etc. (and i do apologize if i did) some people don't care as was the case last night. one group of people felt it was alright to flick their ashes at my girl without regard to her or anyone else. i was going to say something to the guy but court pulled me away. and she ended up discussing the matter with him a short while later. confrontations like that will ruin the good time you're having anyday of the week. i've also noticed that it doesn't matter if your some dumb jock, or a rocker, or suburban tranced out wastoid, rude shallow people are everywhere. and some were at this show last night. i would have thought that maybe there would be more people that were intelligent and perhaps taught some manners, but i couldn't see any. snobby old toronto. different concert, same alternasnobs.

i am glad that i went with court, despite that last bit of ranting. we did find this most excellent japanese restaurant on carlton st. one of the best i've been to. one of the highlights of this long "weekend".

we were able to spend some quality time together even though i was working most of it. my mom's beau has temp. moved in before they head off to FLA for a couple of weeks. so between the five of us, it was crowded. the living room is piled high with boxes and papers and computers and other misc. item s of karls that he didn't want to put into storage. this house has never been clutter free in 3 years. i would like to live in a clutter free house someday. i will discuss this with court in the future.

i had an interview at zoe's spa today. when people ask me how it went, i never quite know how to answer. but usually it would have gone well if i was hired. that probably means "not too well". i have to phone back in a couple of days and that's when i'll know.

all i know is i had a great weekend because court stayed until this afternoon. i'm trying to ingnore my mounting debts. had a doozy m/c bill come in which i'm trying to stay on top of. and good things are around the corner...
