freezer burn
October 07, 2003 - 9:17 am

i'm sporting a new brighter look these days, something i've been trying to do for months. it's very plain right now but i hope to get some pics on it next week.

i defrosted our freezer last night although it took about two hours, i wish i could have done the top part of it too. i also fixed the light in the fridge as well, and if it ever burns out i have no idea how to get it out of it's socket. it's pretty much glued in there. i used several tools in the defrosting, such as a hammer and screwdriver, a fourteen inch metal skewer-type object and a double edged knife. plus the essential pot of boiling water. now the last time i defrosted a freezer was when i was a kid helping my mom do it back when a bottle of coke was 25 cents. (i'm a real old timer) yep, everything was the same, except i don't recall it being this challenging. it is still satifying to see huge chunks falling below into the fridge. and even when the power was shut off for those few hours i think everything was still ok. and now if i keep a handle on the build up we can keep more than seven items in the freezer.

i hope court can keep me busy with other little projects the next little while. i know i have a leaky faucet to fix later...
