oh my, an actual update. it might be a long entry so just bare with the rambling. why dont i begin from the day i left off from. hmmm, when was that? oh, yeah, exactly one week ago. why havent i updated it? as if thousands of people lives depend on minecuz im a slacker. as you well know. so lets start at the beginning. last fridayor thursday night

well, court came up for a early long weekend. and i do love it when she can. we had din (Mediterranean chicken packets) they were yum! oh if you want the recipe posted ill do it but only if you say please! and then we plunked ourselves down in front of the couch and proceeded to exchange easter gifts(and chocolate!) these holidays are sure bountiful. ive never had a more generous girlfriend. she rocks with the thoughtfulness of her gift choices. i.e. we were at the bookstore what seems like months ago looking at an astronomy book, and lo and behold in my easter basket, there it is. fuck! and it wasnt a regular basket either. a basket that looks like one you pick up your food in at the grocery store, but miniaturized. all chrome, too. its for fruit so it rocks my kitchen now. and a pair of old navy p.j. bottoms that i love. and i havent even gotten to the cool friggin chocolate she got. plus these little mini-easter edition coke cans. my god! i didnt deserve it. and i tried to share my haul too.

the next day was good friday. and we wondered around t.o. in the afternoon. stopped by this candy store on yonge st. then went to hang with my old school chum , Adrian and his girl, Bianca. we cabbed it up to a deserted Chinatown. because of the holiday? or SARS? i have no idea but i know i didnt get it. pffft! like i would. or anyone would. after din we went to the opera house to check out groove armada. tres cool! it was a long show, but it sounded awesome. and from my vantage point on the balcony, i could see the set list, so i knew what was coming up next. i was going to ask the light guy for it , but we kind of hurried out. oh and while we were walking back from spadina, we happened upon a delightful little crepe place on queen and john. we will be returning. if i wasnt so full from din. i def. would have gone in.

saturday was spent in crazy Niagara falls (where i now work, believe it or not, long story) and i took kitten to see the butterflies at the conservatory. i couldnt believe how many there were. there is a giant net attached to the glass roof. and mist sprays out on you at impossible angles. the temp & humidity are cranked way , way up. and there are dishes of ripe (and i mean ripe!) fruit for the butterflies to snack on. its far out, we will be going back. Clifton hill was nuts, and hey its not even full out tourist season yet! we ate at our favourite pizza place, boston pizza. and then went to look at the American falls, from the Canadian side. strange! there was still a massive dirty ice chunk sitting at the bottom that looked quite disgusting. oh, how we need it to melt. it also made it colder. but with the mist and so much water rumbling around it doesnt take any effort.

sunday was spent searching for easter candy deals and hardly finding any, we went for a drive and stumbled upon stoney creek dairy. it has opened for the summer season, so get on down there and get yourself some ice cream! the prices have gone up but its still worth it. by far this is the earliest i have ever gone out for i.c. the main thing is that the place is open again. after it closed a couple of years back from bankruptcy. im sure glad its back.

ok, this entry is getting to be of novel proportions, but i will leave with this: i notice from my commute to the falls everyday the grass has been progressively greener. today was the brightest by far. and not all of the grass, but enough along the hwy. to make you optimistic that spring is here to stay. dont tell that to some of the folk in Niagara who saw wet snow a couple of days back. but the green is here. and its staying.
