i think the border guards get changed in the same area. and i think two of them swapped uniforms. it's the old flip-flop musical uniform weekend. only once a year, though, so don't get excited. so friday i'm crossing into n.y. state and the line up is strangely absent, from what it usually is. i pull up to the booth expecting to get grilled and hassled, but instead i'm asked 3 questions and shooed on in. it's like i knew the password or something. the u.s customs guard wasn't surly at all. ah, a pleasant change. i wish i had it on tape.

fast forward two and a half days. canadian border. no line up. (as usual) but what's this? instead of the usual 2 questions, it's ten. and pop open your trunk(please) what the hell? i guess he didn't believe me when he asked me if i had anything to declare. man, the guv must be short on funds or something. looking for an extra $10 to add to the G.S.T. pile. oh, and here's a tip for those of you who want to cash in on the economical dollar we have to offer(but not for long). if they ask you if you're bringing in anything from the states. say no. because they'll make you cough up 7% of what you paid for it. welcome to canada, give us your money!

so in between all of that border nonsense i had a damn fine weekend with my kitten(and lets not forget the always adorable, kitty.) that's court's cat. i could sum up the weekend with three words really. food. fun. and fighting. well four, if your count forgiveness, too. we ate some great food, prepared by none other than my girl.(who can cook up a storm but never brags about it) had fun in it's various forms.(which means whatever you'd like it too) and fought(not literally) and made up in the span of 12 hours. my fault. end of story.

ok, that part of it. on sat. we cruised through the very boring, "mall at robinson". ate some very good wings. and next time i'll get the suicide ones.

screamed and hollered at every "bug" we saw. it was a very spirited round once again. (which i won, of course!) and i expect to be playing this punchbuggy game until we're 60 years old. or our arms fall off. a few weeks ago, kit was saying that she was getting tired of punchbuggy. but whoever loses on what ever weekend, has incentive to play the next one. so...

back to our weekend. we rented the movie secretary. went to the 3 rivers art festival. and drove up to penn hills for ice cream. yum! and although the weather co-operated on the drive down. the drive back home was nightmarish. seems i always miss the warnings. yesterday it was a "severe thunderstorm". and let's not forget me drivng through a tornado a month back.(but we all know it never happened)

it was hard to see and dark, but i can handle that. buses cutting me off drivng 150 kms/hr. i don't handle very well. yeah, it was pretty intense at times.

kit is taking off to a conference in harrisburg tomorrow. my mom is taking off to the dominican republic on saturday. crap! i'll be pulling weeds out of the patio stones in the back yard. woo hoo! now that's some serious fun. but as i explained to my neighbour, i'd rather pull weeds than shovel snow.
