welcome to america
February 27, 2004 - 10:49 pm

i should be all packed and ready to go by sunday. today being friday, nothing seems to be accomplished at all. i have clothes to be washed, papers in piles. half empty boxes all around me, and a van that might not fit everything in. man, i've only been here for four and a half months, how did i get all this crap?

i went to the bank twice today, once this morning to deposit some cheques and then in the afternoon to pay a certain mastercard bill and exchange some cdn money for u.s. greenbacks. stupid bank gave me $80 in fives and tens.

now, court and i have been debating to some extent, what i can bring in to the states. so i called up the peace bridge authority(which has been disbanded - and is no longer called such) or immigration to ask them. the officer i spoke to basically told me if it's yours, you can bring it over. i asked him if there was anything i couldn't bring over. "will you be bringing any firearms over?" me: no, i don't own a gun..." i was concerned with some liquor i would be bringing with me. yesterday mike gave me a bottle of crown royal(it's wrapped , but i know the box) and there's this bottle of sparkling wine that court and i bought before new years. all i have to is itemize everything i'm taking with me. ug. i was surprised that the officer was so nice. he even said "welcome to america"(for real this time)
